OUR MONTHLY MEETINGS

January
John McPhee helped us start off a new year by being our special guest, presenting us with a wonderful display of music on stamps.  John and his friend also supplied material and ran our first Sale by Tender (Auction) in ages.  This brought a very interesting spark to the night.  Thank you John and we hope to see you again at MPS in the near future.

February
David Woods from PSR&KD presented us with a delightful display of his Antarctic collection.  David informed us that this was only a tiny part of his collection.  He was recently invited to display his collection at the Rockingham library.  Many thanks to David; we hope to see him displaying again at MPS.  We also had an excellent display by our treasurer, Ian Howell, showing his Canadian air mail covers, all with very interesting stories.

March
This month we reintroduced the 1-3 Page club display competition.  6 displays were presented for the members to vote on.  The displays demonstrated the different interests amongst the members. Congratulations and thanks to all those who took the time to participate.  First prize went to Harold Clay for Orchids, Second to Glen Stafford for Great Scientists and Third to John Beck for Pioneers of Winged Flight.  All winners were presented with a certificate.

Due to the success of this competition, the members have requested additional club competitions to be scheduled over the year.

April
A truly unique postal/philatelic stationery display was presented by Esther Clay.  This display showed members that with imagination and as little as $40.00 you can present a very interesting display.  Well done Esther.  ( Note, Esther also presented this display to the Rockingham/Kwinana PS and the Daytime stamp club at Subiaco).
