President's Report

This is the second issue of the Peel Philatelist for 2008.  Many things have happened in this club since then.

Our very successful Stamp, Coin and Banknote Fair was held in conjunction with the Peel Region Numismatic Group at the Dudley Park Bowling Club.  I would like to thank the Dudley Park Bowling Club for their continued support of Mandurah Philatelic Society.  Special thanks to the Perth Stamp dealers who came down to support this Fair: Ian Bolton and Mike Kouwen.

There is also the introduction of our monthly sale by tender, whereby members can now buy and sell stamps through this event each month.  We have also introduced a new seating arrangement to help with the extra numbers that are now attending each of our friendly meetings.

Bob Williams is now buying the Stamp News magazine each month and will be circulating it with the Circuit Book, so keep an eye out for that.

Membership continues to grow and we welcome our newest members for 2008: Ian Boulton, Greg Whitfield, John Culleton , Bruce Gummow & Noel Brenzi.  Please introduce yourself and make your collecting interest known.

As usual, I would appreciate some assistance in compiling the newsletter.  Do keep any articles/comments coming in to us, details of unusual or interesting finds, interesting philatelic articles that you have read in a book or magazine and suggestions for things that you would like to read about.  I have also started a Who's Who at Mandurah Philatelic society page, so please write down a little bit about yourself so that we can include it in future news letters.

Happy Collecting.
