President's Report
This
is the first issue of the Peel Philatelist for 2009. Welcome to 2009, I
hope that everyone had a very merry Christmas and a happy new
year. As you will see in this issue, we have a very busy stamp schedule this year. I
hope you will enjoy it all.
Our very successful annual Stamp, Coin and Banknote Fair will be held in
conjunction with the Peel Region Numismatic Group at the Dudley Park Bowling
Club on Sunday April 5th this year. I
would like to thank the Dudley Park Bowling Club for their continued support
of Mandurah Philatelic Society.
The introduction of our monthly sale by tender, whereby members can now buy
and sell stamps, has been very successful over the past 6 months. We look
forward to continuing this tender, so please bring in your surplus bits and
pieces
for
the tender each month. We have also introduced a new seating arrangement
to help with the extra numbers that are now attending each of our friendly
meetings.
You will see on the front cover of this journal, our new website, www.mandurahphilatelicsociety.com Jeff & Yvette have worked long and hard over the Christmas break to give this club a fresh look for the world wide web community. Please
take time to look at it and tell us what you might like to have added to
it.
I would also like to thank the committee for of all their hard work last year and keeping the meetings running without my presence.
As usual, I would appreciate some assistance in compiling the newsletter. Do keep any articles/comments coming in to us, details of unusual or interesting finds, interesting philatelic articles that you have read in a book or magazine and suggestions for things that you would like to read about. Do remember to read the Who's
Who at Mandurah Philatelic society page, and please write down a little bit
about yourself so that we can include it in future news letters.
Happy Collecting.
