EDITORIAL
Since
our last issue, we celebrated the 25th Anniversary of the Mandurah Philatelic
Society with an excellent gathering of 35 people from Mandurah Philatelic
Society, Philatelic Society of Rockingham and Kwinana Districts, Stirling
Philatelic
Society, Western Australia Philatelic Council, Daytime Stamp Club and Wanneroo
Philatelic Society. Three members, Bert Blackman, Dot Hodges and
Harold Clay, all foundation members, were our special guests and were presented
with foundation member's plaques.
I would like to thank all the committee members and others that have contributed
to making the 25th celebrations a successful night. I would like to thank
our special guest and one of the foundation members, Bert Blackman, for
making the long trip to our club. Also, a special thanks to his daughter
Sandra for providing the transportation for him.
Many of our guest were from the Philatelic Society of Rockingham and Kwinana
Districts; I wish to also give a special thanks for them attending. The
committee has made tremendous effort in re-establishing a good working
relationship between our two Clubs.
June saw our AGM and I welcome all the new committee members to their respective positions.
I would like to give a special vote of thanks to Peter Martin, Public Relations Officer for the WAPC, for supplying me with material for this newsletter.
As usual, I would appreciate some assistance in compiling the newsletter. Do
keep any articles/comments coming in to us, details of unusual or interesting
finds, interesting philatelic articles that you have read in a book or
magazine and suggestions for things that you would like to read about.
